Bring Bing Images as Google HomePage Background

Bing is the popular search engine from Microsoft. It puts a new images (sometimes videos) on its home page daily. Daily, you will fine some interesting images on your Bing Homepage.

If we talk about Google, it has a clean white background with a search box and a Google logo. Ocassionally Google changes its doodle but backgroud remain white. Google also offers users to add background images manually on your Google home from the public photo galleries of Picasa. But you need to be logged in with your Google account.

If you like Bing background images but prefer Google for search, you can bring Bing background images to your Google home page. There is a nice Google Chrome extension called Bing wallpaper for Google homepage which automatically set your Google homepage background to the image that is currently being featured on the Bing homepage.

You can choose image source (Feed/RSS) in Options Page.
There is only one limitation of this extension. Background images on Google home page occupy the entire screen area. So the 960×500 pixel Bing images may sometimes appear pixelated.

Facebook is Testing Featured Post Feature

Facebook is testing a new feature in New Zealand that allow users to highlight their updates on Facebook. But this new feature is not available for free. Users will have to pay $2 for each post they want to highlight on the Facebook. This post will shown in the yellow background. For payment, Facebook accepts payments from major credit card providers and PayPal.

When it was first appear on the Facebook, user thought it as spam. After that a Facebook spokesperson confirmed that this is new testing feature.

“We’re constantly testing new features across the site. This particular test is simply to gauge people’s interest in this method of sharing with their friends,” Facebook spokeswoman Mia Garlick said.

This is the first time when Facebook has started to earn money by the posting of users. And we can expect a good earning for Facebook after this feature as it allows users to promote their posts. And we know users can do anything to get more likes and comments on Facebook.

Send One-time message which are deleted after they're read

Sometimes we want to send some secure messages but that are too sensitive for normal channels. Sometimes we also want our messages to be deleted as soon as it's read, leaving no trace. Now, These are not the problems. There is an online service which allow users to send messages which will be deleted just after ther are read.

Due.im is a nice service which allow users to share one time message. Go to the website and enter the message which you want to send someone. You can also add a password to the message. But this is optional. After writing the message and adding an option password, click on create One Time Share Link

It will generate a link to the message which you have composed. Share this link to the person whom you want to send the message. Your message is always encrypted in this service and it will delete the message when your recipient views it. When the URL is clicked a second time, a message is displayed stating the target link to be invalid.

If recipient will not be able to see the message within 24 hours, Message will automatically expire and will be removed from the server.

This seems a nice service and can be used to share passwords with other persons. But never try to send some illegal things because law enforcement agency can easily force DUE.IM service to store your message.

Schedule Google+ Posts For A Later Time On Google Chrome

Many times we want to schedule posts on our social networking website to post later. This is useful when we schedule a birthday post before we forget. You can also schedule an announcement. For Facebook and Twitter, there are various tools available. I have also written some tricks in my older posts. But for Google+, there are only few tools available and most of the users do not about any of these tools.

If you want to schedule your posts on Google+, Google Chrome extension Do Share will do a perfect job for you. This smart Chrome extension helps you write Google+ posts, save them as drafts or schedule them for a later time. You can also specify the circle or people with which you want to share by clicking on +Add more people option.

After installation of this extension, you will see a button in toolbar and a new tab of Do Share. In this you can write message, add circles and people and then click on schedule. Then select data and time for posting. The posts will be automatically published to your Google+ profile at the designated time and date.

This extension does not use any kind of Google+ API or service, So you need to login and your browser must be running for this extension to work and post updated on the scheduled time. We can say that this is a drawback but still it is useful.

It also allows users to save a draft and then edit it later. If you want to share any post right now, you can click on share now button. But this can be done from any Google Product page such as Gmail, Google etc.

This tool is really useful for people who want to promote their blogs, websites or products on Google Plus. If you want to use this extension, add this to your Google Chrome from Google App Store.
